Kangaroo Fans,

This Roos eNews issue is a couple of days late, but if you were at the Sportsman's Grille on Saturday night, then you understand why - the event was absolutely a blast and we had what is easily the most successful Silent Auction ever!

We led the night off with the Annual General Meeting. The three reports are included in this issue and you will see from them that the Club is charging ahead will all cylinders firing. We also elected the 2009 Board of Directors. Please join me in congratulating the following Members on their election and for stepping up to serve your club: Evan Ling, Nick Parker, Jeff Persson, Travis Quigley, Marty Thompson, Mike Todd, and Grant White. You will recogize five returning members, and notice that newcomers Nick and Mike are joining this year. The first meeting is November 24th and the new board will be establishing the entire plan for 2009. Look for details to begin pouring out in early December.

We followed up the AGM with the Year End Celebration, with Coach Marty Thompson presenting trophies to the football team. Those details are posted separately. We then concluded the event with three inductions into the Nashville Kangaroos Hall of Fame: Adam Carter, Shane Clohesy, and myself. We have posted separate reports for each inductee, and we will be establishing a new page on the website specifically for the Hall of Fame inductees.

Lastly, we had the Silent Auction. In the past couple of years we have been able to grow this event bit by bit and it does help raise a few dollars for the club and teams. When Molly Nemeth and Meredith Quigley took it over last year, I was grateful for the help they provided. And they did a great job on short notice, raising almost $1,400. This year, though, they completely crushed expectations and raised over $3,200, a record for this event! Check out the separate stories posted to our site already. It is truly astounding.

In the rest of this issue we have reports on the football and netball teams and some of our own members are performing in Nashville in the next few weeks. Be sure to get to those gigs as we plan to have lots of Roo support for our supporters.

And don't forget we have our Holiday Party coming up in December when we will truly put the finishing touches on a great 2008. Have a great Thanksgiving and see you soon.

Cheers
