2009 Nashville Zoo Run 5K
The Nashville Kangaroos are an official sponsor of the Nashville Zoo Run Run on Saturday, January 24, which takes two thousand people on a mad dash through the Zoo. Come out for the fun at the wildest race in Nashville!
If you would like to support the Roos during this event, please contact Evan Ling or Jeff Persson about volunteering at the water station or the Nashville Kangaroos booth. We are looking for six volunteers for our water station and two for our information booth near the entrance to the Nashville Zoo. This will be a huge opportunity to recruit for netball, football, social activities and supporters.
For those running or walking, register for the Zoo Run Run today. Don't procrastinate, as registration is limited to 2000 participants. Last year, Jeff "Peeps" Persson finished with the best Kangaroo time of 25:12, so make sure you request a ChampionChip so you can officially smash his record!
Proceeds benefit Nashville Zoo, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Our booth will be set up at noon. Volunteers, please be at the Zoo by 1 pm. Check-in for runners and walkers commences at 2 pm. The Zoo Run Run starts at 3 pm.
Please participate as a volunteer or participant if you can. This will provide valuable publicity for the Nashville Kangaroos with 2000 people who are expected to register. Be sure to stop by the Lorikeet Exhibit and see these native Australian birds!
The Zoo Run Run will be followed by a post-event Celebration at the Zoo at 4 pm. Dinner and drinks will be served, and prizes will be awarded. It will not end there, though, as the Nashville Kangaroos will party on at the Sportsman's Grille on 21st Avenue in a suitable celebration of Australia Day.
