Kangaroos Coach Authors Article for Crows Website in Australia
Most of us know Marty Thompson as the enthusiastic coach patrolling the sidelines during the Kangaroos games, urging and willing his boys to give it their all and encouraging them all the way to victory (follwed by the equally passionate if atonal rendition of the Roo Fight song!).
And anyone who has attended a Roo practice knows that Marty has a passion for the game that goes way beyond winning: his love of the sport pushes him to help the Kangaroos grow the game of footy in middle Tennessee as we continually look for new players and fans to learn about this great game.
What many people don't know is that Marty is an Adelaide boy, born and raised in South Australia. He played for the West Torrens team; his father not only played but has served in a number of administrative positions for the local club and for the region; and Marty goes back to Oz every year to see the Grand Final with his father.
You don't find anyone with more passion than that. And now the world will know all of this because his club back home just put an article on its website, under the heading "Crows Around the World" (a bit like the "Roos Around the World" we started in 2008 for our website)!

As famous as this makes Marty, I am sure it won't go to his head. And if it does, the boys will have be sure to bring him back down again over a few cold ones!
Thanks for being a part of our family, Marty. Good on ya!
