Kangaroo Fans,

Welcome back to Roos eNews. We are sorry that we missed the last two issues, due to technical difficulties (at least that what the cable and phone company excuse usually is, so we figured it was good enough for us). Don't fret, though, we are back to our regulary scheduled publishing regimen.

Golf Tournament
The biggest event of the year is happening this month: The Allyson Todd Memorial Golf Tournament, benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation to cure breast cancer. The day is June 27th. The place is Ravenwood Golf Club. The other beneficiaries include Nashville Humane Society, Alive Hospice, and Tennessee Medical Foundation. We did a lot of good for these charities last year, so please help us by getting your team signed up early this year. It's all good! http://www.nashvillekangaroos.org/news/articleDisplay.html?contentURL=news/articles/2009/2009Jun01-1.html

Football Update
The Football team is now well into its 2009 campaign and despite not having the wins they were hoping for, the tough part of the schedule is now behind them: both flying road trips are done, and the rest of the season is driving road trips and home games.

They do have the inaugural John Harrell Cup trophy to show for their efforts and despite the loss, an impressive showing against Chicago United in which they outplayed, out-chanced, and out-possessed the United, but could not quite find the range for the major scores. Still, the team has a great balance between the veterans, the rookies, and the Aussies, so be sure to catch the remaining four home games - you will be treated to some terrific footy. http://www.nashvillekangaroos.org/news/articleDisplay.html?contentURL=news/articles/2009/2009May11-1.html http://www.nashvillekangaroos.org/news/articleDisplay.html?contentURL=news/articles/2009/2009Jun01-0.html

Merchandise Available
We are also proud to say that at the June 6 St. Louis Blues match our merchandise booth will be fully stocked. Paid Members can pick up their Member tee shirt, Member Card, and Bumper Sticker. We will also have the 2009 footy training tops on sale, and... drum roll please... the new Kangaroos polo shirts are in! And they look good, too! http://www.nashvillekangaroos.org/news/articleDisplay.html?contentURL=news/articles/2009/2009May07-1.html

Sponsorship
After the game, be sure to sport your new polo shirt when you go to the post game function at Dan McGuinness Irish Pub. That event will start at 7 pm, with dinners at 7:45 ($8 for Members, $15 for Non-Members gets you dinner and half price bottles!), and the Awards ceremony at 9:00. We will be done by 10:00 so you can hit the town and enjoy the summer nightlife either on Music Row or Downtown. Thanks to Quinn O'Sullivan for use of the DMP patio.

Around The Town
Finally, catch these acts if at all possible:
June 11th Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson at the Belcourt Theatre (http://www.belcourt.org/events?id=63731)
Catch this husband-wife duo as they promote RATTLIN' BONES, their first album together. It is the start of a musical partnership that once more emphasizes Chambers' title as Australia's greatest alt country performer.

And this just in: Jesse Walker is now Stevie Walker! As she reports in to us: "So my artist name has changed to Stevie Walker.... the debut single "Don't Wanna Be Me Today" is now available on iTunes. Check it out! She is currently on a dizzying whirlwind promotional tour, but still had time to let us know how she is doing. Fantastic!

Cheers
